One of our central attractions is our big red barn. Our barn looks like it came out of a children's storybook and is a favorite of all our faithful customers who don't have the space to accommodate our animals or those who want to plan parties without worrying about the weather. Let us here at the Little Ponderosa Zoo and Rescue, throw your  birthday bash for you! And don't worry about the mess, we can handle everything.  And we can make it happen.  Our barn is also fully heated, so it's great for those winter events.

Little Ponderosa Zoo and Rescue is also known for it's pony rides and pony camp. Learning how to respect, ride and care for the ponies, help teach children invaluable lessons for their life to come. It's also a blast! So come on in and let us treat you and your children to the wonders of the animal kingdom.

At the Little Ponderosa Zoo and Rescue, we take pride in providing a zoo where visitors can safely interact with the animals. Most all of our animals love to be touched and hand fed, even the most exotic! That’s why we call ourselves the “hands on zoo”. Our hands on zoo was first established as only a pony ride business before adding our petting zoo and barnyard nursery.

Little Ponderosa Zoo and Rescue winter hours are 10:00am to 5:00pm Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Please call ahead to visit through the week from 10:00am to 5:00pm. The admission is only $8.00 to enjoy all the barnyard and exotic animals. Ages 2 and under are free admission. We also have pony rides and feed for all the animals. Don't forget to bring your picnic lunch to enjoy the pavilion located near the creek and pond! Our close attention to cleanliness and professionalism has helped to build our reputation of quality that is not often found in the animal industry. Our animals are veterinarian inspected and have their certificates of good health. With 30 years of experience between them, James and Tim Cox are sensitive to the animals’ needs and work diligently to make them comfortable. This insures a good experience for you and the animals.

We believe that our responsibility toward wildlife extends beyond just safeguarding the animals in our care. That’s why we actively participate in the preservation of some of the world’s endangered species. We also adopt and care for exotic and domestic animals that can't be handled by their owner or have lost their home.

	Little Ponderosa Zoo has been approved by the United States Department of Agriculture for providing a safe and secure home for abandoned, abused and neglected exotic and domestic animals.
	Little Ponderosa Zoo and Rescue has been granted a Class 1 Permit with the TWRA (TN Wildlife Association) There are only approx. 8 of these facilities in TN! We also work closely with the Anderson County Animal Control, Clinton City Animal Control and The Oak Ridge Animal Shelter.
